Former Doctor Accused of Assault Allegations Involving Thirty-Eight Individuals in His Care

Legal authorities have stated that a ex- physician now faces charges for performing sexual assaults against 38 individuals who were under his care.

Details of the Serious Charges

The accused, Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham is accused of dozens of acts of sexual assault – including some against minors under the age of thirteen – between 2017 and 2021.

A deputy chief prosecutor commented, “Legal teams have worked at length to support a detailed and complex investigation, meticulously examining the available evidence to determine that there is a strong case to bring the case to trial and that it is in the public interest.”

The Police Inquiry

These allegations come after what investigators called a “detailed inquiry” into reported assaults at medical facilities: a hospital in Stoke-on-Trent and Russells Hall hospital.

Spencer is scheduled to appear at the local magistrates' court on 20 January.

Prosecutors outline the forty-five charges he is charged with:

  • 17 counts of assault by penetration.
  • Nine counts of assault on a minor under thirteen.
