Nigel Farage Claims Teachers of ‘Indoctrinating Children’ on Race Issues

Nigel Farage has asserted that educators would initiate walkouts within weeks a success at the polls for his party, accusing them of “poisoning our kids” by instructing children that black pupils are victims and white children oppressors.

At a gathering for a Michigan-based religious institution, Farage outlined his viewpoint on the UK education system, stating that the “Marxist left” had “taken over schooling”.

“I expect a walkout by educators very quickly after winning the next general election,” Farage commented during a Q&A session.

“They are corrupting young minds. They are telling them to be ashamed of their country. They inform an eight-year-old black child that he is oppressed and little Oliver, who is white, who is eight that he is an oppressor. They are dividing us, not uniting us. They are feeding this harmful mindset.”

In response to Farage’s claims, the head of a major education union rejected the idea that the education system was controlled by Marxists as “nonsense”. He pointed out that industrial action must relate to educators’ working conditions, and doubted whether the party would target these right after taking office.

“The politician has crafted his public life on dog-whistle politics and currently, similar to other figures, he is lining up teachers and their organizations for a fight,” Kebede stated.

“I think that’s grossly irresponsible. I don’t – and nor does my union – push critical race theory as he’s suggesting … If he were to lead the government he would sell out our public services, particularly schooling … and he would be a disaster for education and children.”

Reform, which is leading the polls by about 10 points, has provided limited specifics on a proposed education policy and seems not to have appointed an education spokesperson.

Nonetheless, Farage’s remarks indicated the group would reform the system and the curriculum. Farage declared: “We have got a massive job with schooling – absolutely herculean. Moreover, it won’t happen quickly; it requires years, years to turn this around.”

He stated that younger generations are receptive to analytical thought, but older youth were “completely lost”.

Paying tribute to Charlie Kirk, Farage said: “All I want education to do to foster independent thought – to instruct people that there are two points of view and you make up your own mind rather than current practices where views are labeled good or bad. This is a huge undertaking in the UK and US.”

Reform has previously clashed with a major educators’ organization, after Kebede called the party “extremist and prejudiced” and dismissed Farage as “a poundshop Donald Trump”.

Farage has accused the union head with being “a self-declared Marxist” … an individual intent that young minds be corrupted through education, their thinking tainted about everything to do with this country” and maintained that the union is trying to indoctrinate youth opposed to his party.

Roughly a million individuals work in schools in the UK, with educators comprising half and the remainder being assistants and administrative personnel. The leading teachers’ organization has hundreds of thousands of members.

Countrywide walkouts over teacher pay and conditions in 2023 led to significant interruptions in educational institutions and extensive missed instruction for children.

At the US event, Farage also pledged to help spread the digital courses of the institution in the UK. He said organizations like it were “part of the fightback”, adding that: “I am serious. I will help garner hundreds of thousands, if not millions of youth to your online courses. I pledge this now and I will follow through.”

The institution, a small private Christian college, offers free courses. Its website states: “Comprehensive learning is necessary for personal happiness and to perpetuate the blessings of civil and religious liberty. It offers these excellent programs for no charge to all who wish to learn.”
