Renowned Actor The actor Pat Finn, Known For Parts in The Middle and Friends, Has Died at the Age of Sixty.
US entertainer Pat Finn, who featured in popular TV shows like "Friends", Seinfeld and The Middle, has passed away at 60 years old.
The skilled improv artist succumbed at his home in LA on Monday having undergone treatment for cancer beginning in 2022, according to media reports.
"Pat Finn never met a stranger - only friends he didn't know yet," his relatives stated in a statement.
They added that he had "lived his life fully - with joy and exuberance".
A Prolific TV Career
Finn's first television role was on a show starring George Wendt in 1995, where he portrayed the brother of the main character.
He also had a recurring role on "Murphy Brown" between 1995 and 1997.
He played the part of a party host named Joe Mayo in Seinfeld in 1998, portraying a host known to delegate tedious tasks to his guests.
During the late 1990s and early 2000s, he had guest spots on numerous popular shows, including:
- King of Queens
- Friends
- "That '70s Show"
- House
Finn was perhaps best known for his portrayal of Bill Norwood in The Middle, appearing throughout eight seasons over nearly a decade.
His film credits are "It's Complicated" and "Santa Paws 2".
Off-Screen Life
Beyond his on-screen roles, Finn was an improv performer and served as an educator at the University of Colorado, where he was a faculty member.
He was involved with a comedy group of six named "Beer Shark Mice".
"He guided, supported, and advised many learners during his career and it would be difficult to find anyone anyplace who has a bad thing to say about him," his family wrote.
Offering condolences, peer actor Richard Kind said there was "not a more kind, gentle, or funny, authentic human being you could encounter".
"Consistently upbeat, helping you be funnier and better. A wonderful father and man," Kind wrote online.
The actor is survived by his wife Donna, his three kids, and his parents and siblings.
