Much like the recent storm hit the north-west the night before, Manchester City swept the visitors away at the their home ground. It was a statement three-nil win for the City coach's side due to goals from Rebecca Knaak, Shaw and Hemp. It was a display that truly announced their title credentials as they consolidated their standing at the WSL pinnacle.

Consecutive Setbacks for Manchester United

This scoreline represented consecutive Women's Super League losses for Marc Skinner’s side for the first time since May 2024, putting them a sizable gap off the league leaders with their trophy ambitions in serious doubt.
