Trump Calls Families of Shot Guard Soldiers to the White House
Former President Trump revealed on Sunday that he has asked the loved ones of a National Guard member fatally shot last week to come to the executive mansion.
He added that he conversed with her parents and they were “deeply grieving”.
Information on the Tragic Shooting
Soldier Sarah Beckstrom, 20, was fatally shot in a attack on last Wednesday in the nation's capital.
Her comrade, Andrew Wolfe, twenty-four years old, remains hospitalized in serious condition.
Gatherings across the state have taken place in their remembrance.
White House Offer
The commander-in-chief stated he’s talked about a White House visit for the loved ones of both individuals of the West Virginia National Guard.
“I told them: ‘When you’re prepared, because that’s a difficult moment, arrive at the White House. We’re going to honor Sarah,” the president addressed journalists. “And in the same way with him, no matter the outcome.”
Community Response
Mourners assembled over the past few days at the high school in West Virginia to honor Beckstrom.
Both she and Wolfe had been working with the state guard as part of the president’s government program to assist public safety in Washington DC.
Remembering Sarah Beckstrom
“She was the individual that educators desired. She behaved with quiet strength, a contagious smile and a upbeat demeanor that lifted people around her,” the principal, the leader of her alma mater, informed the press. “She was sweet, caring and always ready to assist people.”
Service plans for Sarah are still being arranged.
Judicial Actions and Government Changes
Law enforcement have accused a twenty-nine-year-old suspect with a charge of homicide and two counts of violent assault while carrying a weapon.
The incident caused the Trump administration to pause refugee claims and temporarily stop issuing visas to owners of travel documents.
Condition of Andrew Wolfe
Andrew Wolfe, a native of Martinsburg, started his military career in 2019 and is a 2019 graduate of his local high school, according to the news agency.
He is still undergoing care and is “fighting for his life”, West Virginia governor Patrick Morrisey mentioned on a news program.
The state’s top lawyer Bondi stated on Fox News Sunday that she also intended to visit the family.
Memory of Sarah Beckstrom
Beckstrom, from her hometown, graduated from Webster County High in mid-2023 and began her service not long after, working as a MP with distinction, as stated by the military.
“She had a lot of kindness and she absolutely had courage,” the governor told the gathering at the memorial. “Though her time was cut short, she has made an impact that’s going to last forever.”
