Ukraine has announced the start of large-scale manufacturing for an innovative domestically developed defensive UAV to enhance its aerial protection systems. Three initial producers have begun production, with 11 more getting ready to set up assembly lines, Ukrainian military officials announced on Friday.

'Octopus' Technology Tested in Battlefield Conditions

The drones will be based on a domestically developed system called “Octopus” designed to intercept Iranian-made drones. The system underwent testing in combat and demonstrated successful “at night, amid electronic warfare and at low altitudes,” officials confirmed. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has set a target of producing as many as 1,000 interceptors each day.
