In a decisive runoff election, hardline figure José Antonio Kast has won the presidency in Chile.

With over 99% of votes tallied, Kast garnered 58.17% of the votes, defeating leftist contender Jeannette Jara, who earned 41.83%.
This marks Kast's third presidency, having previously been defeated by the sitting president, Gabriel Boric, in the 2021 second round.
